Your home should always smell good, right? Just like maintaining you home clean and organized is a priority making sure you come home to an amazing smelling house should be on top of your priority list when it comes to home maintenance.

Get rid of bad odors in your kitchen

– Take care of the trash

The first thing on my list is definitely taking out the trash on regular basis. Of course, you should also clean the trash can. You can easily do that by using a paste made with baking soda and water. Use the mixture to scrub the trash can with a sponge.

– Take care of your dishwasher

I know you probably don’t clean your dishwasher but I must say that it is very important step. Use a dishwasher cleaning tablet at least once a month.

– Clean your appliances

Cleaning your fridge, microwave, and other kitchen appliances and making sure no nasty smells are coming out of them as soon as you open them is also very important and I am certain you often forget this step.

Again, you can use a baking soda and water mixture to scrub the insides of these appliances. Baking soda will absorb all of the nasty odors while it also does an amazing job in cleaning any surface.

Get rid of bad odors in your bedroom

– Make sure your mattress is in good condition

All upholstery need to be cleaned every once in a while, therefore, you need to take proper care of your mattress. It absorbs nasty smells, body liquids, and all sorts of other impurities that may even cause skin irritation.

You can sprinkle baking soda on it, let it sit for a couple of hours, and vacuum it a couple of times a year in order to refresh your bed and absorb any smells.

Get rid of bad odors in your bathroom

– Clean your toilet

I know you hate this chore – it’s dreaded by almost everyone on the planet but if you want your bathroom to smell good you need to do it.

If you also want to disinfect it you can use bleach but make sure the room is well ventilated and you have all windows open.
