How To Remove Stubborn Rust Stains From A Carpet?

If you notice a rust stain on your carpet then you need to know exactly how to remove it – after all, no one wants their favourite carpet to be covered in stains. Thankfully, the cleaning team over at https://cleaners.ltd.uk was kind enough to tell me exactly how to get rid of a rust stain with only natural ingredients. This is super helpful for everyone especially when you don’t want to spend a lot of money on special detergents and you just want to get the job done as quickly as possible – with a few natural ingredients you already have at home!

Here is what they told me

The first thing they covered was how important finding the source of the rust stain is. They said that you need to find what is causing the stain so you can avoid similar issues in the future. It’s pretty common for the legs of certain furniture to cause rust stains so if your table, for example, is causing it you might want to consider moving it to a different spot.

Then start treating the affected area. Grab a butter knife and scrape up as much of the rust as possible.

Next, pour dish soap on a sponge and blot the area with it. Let it sit for 5 minutes then remove the dish soap with a damp cloth.

If the stain still remains continue with mixing two cups of warm water with one tablespoon of ammonia. Pour the mixture on the affected area and let it sit for 5 minutes before you blot with a cloth. In most cases, the rust stain will be removed by now, however, if it is faded but not gone completely – mix lemon juice and white vinegar and treat the stain with it. But this time, leave the mixture on the stain for a few hours.

And finally – rinse with cold water.
